The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) wants to update the 2017 Nebraska CCR Standards for Science. They started reviewing these standards in October 2023 as required by law.
A group of Nebraska teachers, with different backgrounds and from different parts of the state, worked together to come up with proposed changes. They looked at feedback from about 500 people who gave their opinions on how good the 2017 standards were. The team also checked other resources, both local and national, to make sure the standards they're suggesting are high-quality and can be measured well.
Now, there's a survey open to the public until May 30th. Anyone can take it and give their thoughts on the proposed changes. Your input would be greatly appreciated!
