52 Years Ago in Cadet History…
A very young Cadet Golf team (4 Sophomores + 4 Freshman) had a successful season ⛳ #ThrowbackThursday

Yesterday afternoon we held a State Speech Send-Off for our Speech members who have qualified for the State Meet on Thursday. All students in our school lined the hallways to wish them luck! 🎤

A big congratulations to junior Lacey Carvajal, who was a selected winner in the Nebraska School Nutrition Association Art Contest! Lacey and her family are invited to the Nebraska School Nutrition Association Conference in June where she will be honored.
Congratulations, Lacey!

Bringing the forecast to life! 🌦️
This morning our 4th Grade students got to listen to a presentation from Jade Steffens, a meteorologist from WOWT Channel 6 (Omaha). She shared lots of information about the weather and what it is like working at her job. The 4th graders did a great job asking lots of questions, too! ☀️⛈️

7th Grade FCS students have been working the past few days on a cupcake challenge! 🧁
All students worked in small groups to design a cupcake and frosting recipe. They then prepared/baked these cupcakes to appeal to teachers’ liking, and set up a taste testing station in the teachers’ lounge.
The kids have put a lot of work into this and are really excited to see what the teachers think - for a lot of these kids, this is the first time that they have made something completely from scratch!

Any students interested in going into the Electrical career field are encouraged to attend the Youth Energy Leadership Camp!
The Nebraska Rural Electric Association (NREA) along with Cuming County Public Power District (CCPPD) sponsor this camp each year at Camp Comeca near Cozad, Nebraska. This year the camp is from July 22nd to July 26th.
This camp has leadership opportunities, workshops, demonstrations, sports, tours of two power plants and many other activities. Students will also learn about the electrical industry, jobs available, etc.
Cuming County Public Power District (CCPPD) sponsors up to four students that are currently in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade. Students must be customers of CCPPD. The camp will be free to these students. The forms are due back to CCPPD by May 1st.
Another opportunity we offer is the Youth Tour in Washington D.C. One of the students that attend the Youth Energy Camp the year prior is chosen to attend the Youth Tour in June the following year.
For any further questions about the camp, please contact Nicki White, CCPPD Communications Manager, at 402-372-2463 or nwhite@ccppd.com.

Please join us at Pizza Ranch on Monday, March 18th from 5-8 PM. Pizza Ranch will donate 10% of sales to WP-B FCCLA to help members afford the cost of the State Leadership Conference. The kids would love to see you there!

Any Junior interested in the Nebraska Attorney General's Youth Conference needs to see Mrs. Knaak. Applications are due Friday. This a great opportunity to learn more about state government and the law

Mr. Kile’s Digital Media Class created a list of general trivia questions for a video project. This afternoon, they filmed them asking the questions to various teachers and students around the school!
