As a fundraiser, the cheer and dance girls are selling raffle tickets. The ticket winners will be announced at the first football game (September 6)! The proceeds will go towards future cheer and dance camps and apparel. The School Store will have merchandise available for purchase tonight at the Open House from 5:30 - 7:30. The store will accept cash, check, and cards.

Today is the deadline for registering for the Sept 14th ACT test session. There is a fee for late registrations. There are dates in October and December as well.

Please help us extend a warm welcome to our new Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Career Specialist, Kristen Christensen! “I'm originally from West Point, NE and graduated from Guardian Angels Central Catholic. I reside in West Point with my family, my husband Luke, and four children, Ava (16), Gavin (12), Ivy (9) and Reeve (6). I hold a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Human Service Counseling from Wayne State College. In the past couple of years, I was enjoying my time as a substitute teacher in the West Point and Wisner Schools. Prior to that I was a stay at home mom/homemaker. My past career was with the Good Samaritan Society as the Director of Social Services. This school year I will be the JAG Career Specialist in the High School. I am looking forward to building strong relationships with my students, staff, and parents.” #CadetPride⚔️

58 Years Ago in Cadet History… The Cadets were true ‘Gridiron Greats’ on the football field during the 1965 season, going 10-0, being crowned the Husker Conference Champions, and made West Point the football capital of the state for 1965! 🏈 They had great support from the pep club, cheerleaders, students, and community as well! #ThrowbackThursday

Please help us extend a warm welcome to our new MS/HS Math teacher + JH Cross Country coach + JH Wrestling coach, Doug Glackin! “I grew up in Marcus, Iowa. After graduation, I spent 6 years in the Regular Army. Shortly after leaving the Army, I joined the National Guard and attended Wayne State College where I received my degree in mathematics education. I retired from the Iowa public school system after serving as a high school math teacher and coach, a secondary principal, and a school superintendent. I will be teaching middle school and high school math while coaching middle school cross country and wrestling. I'm excited to get back into the classroom on a full time basis. I look forward to working with students, staff, and families to foster an appreciation of math.” #CadetPride⚔️

I did my student teaching in Lexington Public Schools then moved to Atkinson to teach at West Holt Public Schools for the past two years. I'll be teaching K-8 Health and Physical Education, and I will be coaching high school and youth football along with helping with junior high track. I'm most looking forward to spending a school year close to my family, and finally getting a chance to watch my nieces and nephews play sports.” #CadetPride⚔️

Just a reminder if you have not submitted your 24-25 online registration for your student, please get that completed before next Tuesday, August 13th. Also if you have a 9-12th grader, you may pay the $30 computer fee online. If you have any questions or need assistance please call or stop by any of the school offices.
