Any students interested in going into the Electrical career field are encouraged to attend the Youth Energy Leadership Camp!
The Nebraska Rural Electric Association (NREA) along with Cuming County Public Power District (CCPPD) sponsor this camp each year at Camp Comeca near Cozad, Nebraska. This year the camp is from July 22nd to July 26th.
This camp has leadership opportunities, workshops, demonstrations, sports, tours of two power plants and many other activities. Students will also learn about the electrical industry, jobs available, etc.
Cuming County Public Power District (CCPPD) sponsors up to four students that are currently in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade. Students must be customers of CCPPD. The camp will be free to these students. The forms are due back to CCPPD by May 1st.
Another opportunity we offer is the Youth Tour in Washington D.C. One of the students that attend the Youth Energy Camp the year prior is chosen to attend the Youth Tour in June the following year.
For any further questions about the camp, please contact Nicki White, CCPPD Communications Manager, at 402-372-2463 or nwhite@ccppd.com.

Mrs. Kruger’s 3rd Grade class had a lesson on Oobleck - “a suspension of cornstarch and water that can behave like a solid or a liquid depending on how much pressure you apply”.
They made predictions about what will happen when the ingredients are mixed, took notes on their discoveries while able to feel the Oobleck, and experimented with various objects to see if they would float or sink in the Oobleck. The students had a lot of fun with this lesson! 🥽🦠
